City Clinic

Mondays 5.15pm-6.15pm & 6.15pm-7.15pm

What is it?

Clinical Pilates has a rehabilitative focus to treat the cause of your physical condition(s), not just the symptoms. It can only be run by an allied health professional. This is also why we run small groups of 4 people per class to give you greater time for feedback. This ensures you are performing the exercises with the correct technique and allows more time to modify exercises according to your conditions.

Why do it?

There are a wide number of conditions that benefit from pilates from lower back, hip and neck pains through to osteoporosis. Pilates teaches you how to activate muscles correctly such as your deep core stabilisers, glutes and lower trapezius muscles. These muscles all play an integral role in trunk stability and are commonly underactive in lower back, hip and upper back and neck pains.

Rehabilitation through Pilates for lower backs, hip, and necks has repeatedly shown to improve:

  • Quality of movement
  • Pain
  • Stability of the trunk and hip
  • Balance
  • Muscular strength
  • Flexibility and
  • Posture
