Hydrotherapy involves performing exercise and gentle movement in a warm, shallow pool to rehabilitate injuries and decrease pain. Water creates a reduced weight environment with gentle resistance where patients can move with less pressure on their joints.

Hydrotherapy is usually undertaken in conjunction with manual therapy (such as Physiotherapy or Osteopathy) to manage injury and ailments. Research has shown that hydrotherapy can be effective in the treatment of several conditions including:

  • Arthritic joints
  • acute and chronic lower back pain
  • Weight loss
  • Orthopaedic rehabilitation (ankle, hip, knee and shoulder)
  • Gait retraining

Our hydrotherapy classes are run in a safe, relaxed and friendly environment by CCHN physiotherapist Izach Clements.
