Covid19 Update 21st July 2020

Dear valued patients,

We’re writing to keep you updated about COVID-19 restrictions and ACT Government mandatory public health directions. The situation is changing rapidly in VIC and NSW and we feel it is part of our responsibility as health care providers to continue to communicate any changed requirements or advice with our patients.

The ACT Government has updated a COVID-19 Public Health Direction, which legally requires anyone who has been in affected areas identified by NSW Health to self-quarantine for 14 days from the date they return, regardless if they present with symptoms or not.

Currently these locations are:

  1. Batemans Bay: Soldiers Club – Monday 13 July, Wednesday 15 July to Friday 17 July
  2. Campbelltown: Plus Fitness – 9am to 10am, Saturday 11 July
  3. Casula: Crossroads Hotel – Friday 3 July to Friday 10 July
  4. Casula: Planet Fitness – Saturday 4 July to Friday 10 July
  5. Harris Park: Our Lady of Lebanon Cathedral – 5.30pm Mass on Wednesday 15 July, 6pm Mass on Thursday 16 July, 1:30pm Funeral and 6pm Mass on Friday 17 July
  6. Picton: Picton Hotel – Saturday 4 July, Sunday 5 July, Thursday 9 July, Friday 10 July
  7. Wetherill Park: Thai Rock Restaurant – Thursday 9 July, Friday 10 July, Saturday 11 July, Sunday 12 July, Tuesday 14 July

If you or any member of your family have been to any of the locations on the dates specified above, you are legally required to get in touch with ACT Health through the COVID-19 Helpline on (02) 6207 7244 so you may be informed of the correct protocol and so you can be supported throughout the quarantine period. You and your family members are also encouraged to get tested for COVID-19 even if you have no symptoms. Additionally, you must self-quarantine for 14 days from the day you returned from the location even if you receive a negative test result.

Our commitment to you

If you have recently been to the clinic, you would know that we have implemented multiple safety protocols to promote optimal safety of our staff and patients.

Any person  who enters the clinic (including family members and staff) must:

  • Sanitise their hands
  • Sign a questionnaire stating that they and their family members have no symptoms and haven’t been to any of the locations in question
  • Pass a temperature check

In the clinic:

  • Our waiting room enforces social distancing mandates with X’s to indicate where to sit
  • Masks are available upon request
  • Staff disinfect all highly trafficked surfaces regularly throughout the day
  • Patients are welcome to wait in their car prior to their appointment (instead of in the waiting room)
  • All rooms are thoroughly disinfected between patients
  • Minimal contact is enforced when taking payments
  • Telehealth appointments are available to all patients (especially those who are required to self-isolate)

Any patients who have had any form of contact themselves or contact with people who have been to a hotspot area are required to have their appointments moved by 14 days from the last date of their exposure and are encouraged to self-isolate during this time.
