Strength for Life is funded by the Australian Government’s Move it AUS – Better Aging Grant Program to create an exercise program designed for those over the age of 50 (over 40 for Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islanders) to encourage social connection and improvements in physical strength and fitness.

This progressive training program help to improve, strength, balance, coordination, endurance and mobility. Others benefits also including:

  • Reduced risk of falls
  • Preventing or managing arthritis, osteoporosis, diabetes and heart disease
  • Speeding up recovery from illness
  • Improved ability to undertake daily living tasks
  • Opportunities for social interaction
  • Improvement in self-esteem and mental wellbeing

Our program is run by our experienced exercise physiologists in our Exercise Lab in the City Clinic and at the Gunghalin Birralee Scout Hall for Casey participants. The classes are capped at 15 people and are at the affordable cost of $12 per session.

Before enrolling into the program all participants are required to complete Strength for Life enrolment form and the Strength for Life Pre-Exercise Screening Form and attend an individual Exercise Physiology appointment. The initial consultation is $80 and claimable through your private health cover.
