Steve has over 10 years of experience with a wide variety of issues relating to mental health and wellbeing, including:

· Anxiety and depression;
· Relationship difficulties;
· Workplace stress;
· Chronic pain management;
· Identity and self-esteem;
· Sexuality and gender issues; and
· Trauma (childhood trauma, PTSD and vicarious trauma).

Steve takes a practical and holistic approach to psychological support. He draws from a range of evidence-based treatment frameworks, incorporating heart rate variability (HRV) biofeedback, body-oriented techniques, and mindfulness-based approaches such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Steve emphasises a strong working relationship, understanding that feeling comfortable with your psychologist is vital to effective counselling.

In addition to his clinical work, Steve is a trainer with the Blue Knot Foundation, which offers support to individuals affected by childhood trauma and professional development to the organisations and professionals that assist them. Steve is dedicated to caring for people who are exposed to trauma in their work, such as health professionals, emergency workers, lawyers, and aid/development workers. He brings to this his own experience from mainstream and cross-cultural settings, both in Australia and overseas.
