Dr Ryka Moore Osteopath Canberra

Osteopath

When people experience trauma through the pursuit of work or play pain and discomfort often results. My great passion is to use gentle and effective hands-on techniques to help the body restore itself to a pain-free state. I help my patients find a healthier and happier relationship with their body through the practice of osteopathy.

In over 10 years of clinical practice, I have learnt that no single approach is the “right one” for any individual. Through my original training and extensive post-graduate experience, I incorporate a wide variety of techniques within my practice. This includes the use of massage, joint-based work, dry needling and rehabilitative exercise. Currently, I lecture at the Canberra Institute of Technology and have taught dry needling for a number of years. I enjoy the rewards of teaching and see myself as an empathetic practitioner who listens and invests with my patients.

My educational background includes an honours degree in immunology with a number of research papers published in this field. After completing my osteopathic training, I have continued to develop myself professionally. My interests include modern pain science and the role of chronic inflammation in the musculoskeletal system. Chronic headache and the rehabilitation of shoulder and hip joints are of particular clinical interest.
